  1. Movie Soundtracks: Anyone that tells you movie soundtracks are bad for promo has NO clue what they’re talking about. We have access to data on HUNDREDS of songs within Spotify For Artists and YouTube analytics. Movie soundtracks perform exceedingly well at getting traffic when done right. The main key is that the song must fit well with the overall feel of the soundtrack and to target movies or shows that are releasing soon. When this happens, these soundtracks have the potential to outperform even our best paid ads.
  2. Targeting Smaller Lists: Instead of going for huge playlists, we focused on getting placements for MANY smaller lists. Ideally, with this strategy you have to own some smaller lists yourself, then trade promo with other artists or smaller labels who also own some lists.

(AFFORDABLE) PAID TRAFFIC STRATEGIES WE USED FOR THIS SONG

  1. If you’re going to pay for ads, NEVER send the traffic to just one song. We run ads for hundreds of artists through our IG & Tik Tok promotions, and we always advise them to send the traffic to either a playlist they own, or a link that has their other socials, email list, or website on it.
  2. DO NOT send the traffic to a Best Hits (This Is: Artist Name Here) Playlist: Unless you already have a solid brand name (over 10,000 followers on Spotify), it is best to title your playlist with a genre, mood, or trend. You’ll see a better cost per ad whenever you do this.
