How To Get Music Bloggers To Reply To Your Submissions

There are thousands of blogs to submit music. The most effective way to submit music is through hub sites. These sites act as a mediator between artists and music writers.  An example of a hub is SubmitHub. Here, musicians can view thousands of music blogs and contact their writers. Music can be submitted to them in small previews, and they can respond to musicians by accepting or rejecting the track. These hubs typically have free and premium versions; the cost of the premium versions depend on how much money you’d like to spend.

Of course, there are other ways to get your music reviewed by music bloggers. You can build a reputation on blogging websites by commenting on articles and get to know various authors. Afterwards, you can contact the authors and ask them to listen to your music. Lastly, look for blogs that have a decent amount of readers. If no one’s reading their blog, your music isn’t getting exposure and it’s a waste of time.

What To Include?

• Basic Information

Include high quality artwork and an eye-catching headline accompanying your music. Tell them a bit about your music. Keep it short and be sure to include the style, and genre (be descriptive!) If it sounds like another popular artist, like Daft Punk with a 2Pac twist, mention it, because they could be looking for an interesting sound.

• Put Your Best Foot Forward

Don’t include your entire library of songs. The authors have thousands of musicians trying to grab their attention; if you’re lucky enough to grab their attention, make an impact as quickly as possible. Link or embed your best song. Your best song can either be a track that you personally think is your number one, or it could be the song that other people like. You can mention this in your message, something like “The Lion’s Den has been retweeted over 300,000 times!”.

Be Realistic

Being overconfident is not the most attractive thing. It’s been said, but it should be cemented in your head. Music authors view thousands of musicians messages a day. Overselling yourself will fall flat. Let your music speak for itself.

Be Wary Of Promises

It sounds like a good idea to tell the authors that they won’t be disappointed, but again, let your music speak for itself. You’re not a door to door salesman, be sure to remember that.

After doing everything right, there’s a chance you won’t be accepted. It will hurt, but don’t be discouraged. If you find yourself getting rejected again and again, there are two things you can do. Make yourself more marketable. If you don’t already, create an attractive website that showcases your brand. On the other hand, if it’s your music, hit the recording studio. Find some inspiration, ask friends to listen to your music to find out what they dislike about it and create new songs.

With an already buzzing YouTube audience of over 400K+ subscribers, Kid Travis wanted his Instagram profile to start gaining some of that same traction.

While you can get some spill over audience from YouTube, Kid Travis knew that Instagram ad campaigns could boost his presence on IG even further!

He discovered that trying to run Instagram ads yourself vs. having us add our years of experience and expertise to them made a huge difference!

His main goal was to achieve new followers who are seriously interested in his journey as an artist.

Kid Travis already had amazing talent but needed to combine his music genius with some marketing expertise to get the best of both worlds.

We were able to bring out the heart of his music through paid ads by editing & optimizing his existing videos and properly researching and structuring his ad campaigns.

The end results: We were able to consistently and predictably gain followers averaging between $0.25-$0.35 per follower (including a bulk of the promotion being done in high cost English speaking countries such as United States, United Kingdom, Australia, & Canada) resulting in around 4,000 new, engaged followers/month on Instagram.
