A 360 record deal contract can provide a number of major benefits to recording artists and bands looking to get their start and establish themselves within the music industry. These 360 record deal contracts are agreed upon relationships between an artist or band and a company that the company will provide financial support as well as support in promotions and marketing, touring and other bookings and many other areas as well.

While often this support is welcomed, especially for new artists looking to establish themselves and develop a fanbase, 360 record deal contracts aren’t necessarily for everyone and understanding what they’re all about is important in understanding whether a deal like this will be right for you as an artist.

Positives

On the positive side, 360 record deal contracts provide a sense of support that many artists and bands can’t afford to supply for themselves, especially at the beginning of their careers. Financial support from record companies can go a long way in helping musicians to gain their footing within the industry, establish a network and connections and pay for the expenses of touring and performing. Furthermore, record companies already have a network of connections in place when it comes to booking live performances.

Gaining access to this network through a 360 record deal contract can help to make booking gigs and shows for musicians and promoting and marketing to targeted demographics, especially when they are looking to grow and expand within the industry.

Negatives

However, while there are massive amounts of benefits to signing a 360 record deal contract there is one major reason why a contract like this may be more negative than positive for musicians that sign themselves into one. Specifically, this issue has to do with the level of creative freedom that 360 record deal contracts offer for artists. Locking yourself into one of these contracts often comes with a number of terms and conditions that must be met in order for the contract and support from the record company to continue. This could mean something like how many shows you must perform monthly or annually, how many albums you need to put out and when, or even specifically what songs you can and should be performing.

While this delegation may be helpful in creating success and popularity for artists, it can leave some musicians feeling stifled creatively and as such unable to perform they would be able to in a less constraining contract.

Wrapping Up

360 record deal contracts provide a popular way for musicians to begin their careers and create a network of support for themselves. While these contracts are a prominent within the music industry it's important to understand what they are and what they mean for you as a musician before you consider signing yourself into one.

While these record contracts can provide incredible benefits to musicians as they grow their careers and fan bases around the world, they can also stifle and limit creativity and as such should be considered carefully before signing your name on the dotted line.

KID TRAVIS (R&B, POP)

With an already buzzing YouTube audience of over 400K+ subscribers, Kid Travis wanted his Instagram profile to start gaining some of that same traction.

While you can get some spill over audience from YouTube, Kid Travis knew that Instagram ad campaigns could boost his presence on IG even further!

He discovered that trying to run Instagram ads yourself vs. having us add our years of experience and expertise to them made a huge difference!

His main goal was to achieve new followers who are seriously interested in his journey as an artist.

Kid Travis already had amazing talent but needed to combine his music genius with some marketing expertise to get the best of both worlds.

We were able to bring out the heart of his music through paid ads by editing & optimizing his existing videos and properly researching and structuring his ad campaigns.

The end results: We were able to consistently and predictably gain followers averaging between $0.25-$0.35 per follower (including a bulk of the promotion being done in high cost English speaking countries such as United States, United Kingdom, Australia, & Canada) resulting in around 4,000 new, engaged followers/month on Instagram.
