Genres that do well include Country, Rap, Rock, Folk, LoFi, RNB, Hip Hop, and Pop. Pretty much promoting on Spotify is safe for all genres, but it’s not going to be as specific in terms of location as YouTube.

People have been using Instagram, Facebook, and Apple Music to successfully promote their music on the internet too!

Let’s take Facebook for example. Whenever you’re on Facebook, they want you to STAY on Facebook for as long as possible because they make their revenue from ads. So the more ads they can serve you, the more money than can make.

If you upload a popular music video of yours Facebook will show it to more and more people at a generous algorithm rate for free.

Typically, live performances do better on Facebook or Instagram, so keep this in mind when uploading.

Moral of the story. USE email, and use it well. Don't spam your listeners, but give them things only related to what they signed up for. I use MailChimp for my email and I highly recommend going with the paid version. You'll be able to set up automatic campaigns which are huge time savers in your marketing! But you can always start for free too.

This last one is up to you! The best way to find influencers is to start using TikTok! Our recommendation would be to find people under 100,000 followers and strike up a relationship with them.

This does NOT mean bombard them with your music. It means becoming a fan of their page first. Like some of their videos, comment on the videos that aren’t as popular on their page, and don’t do this all overnight. Put in some genuine connection over a couple weeks before asking for a favor.
